Parents love kids bikes with internal gears - it means you can introduce your children to gears slowly, and there is less chance of something going wrong with the gearing system as they are more durable. More and more kids are finding out the great benefits of internal gears on kids bikes. We have two types of internal gear hubs - the speed-sensitive 2 speed and the rider-controlled 3 speed. Both are custom-designed for kids to use and being internal gears, they can treat them rough. All x2i and x3i models also com with footbrakes.

Just simply a clever gear system that changes up and down at the designated speed for kids who are transitioning to gears but not yet ready to be in total control of them.2. x3i Rider-Controlled Gears: Introduce kids to gears slowly
Our x3i bikes with 3 speed internal gears, help introduce kids to gears slowly with minimal fuss. All the virtues of the traditional footbrake bikes remain but with the advantage of changing gears when the rider is ready to do so. The lever action is very straight forward and easy to use.3. The SRAM x3i Internal Gears used on ByK have no external gear parts you can damage, unlike many other brands. Great for kids who will treat it rough, or just throw the bike down (either on purpose or by accident!)4. Highest safety standards with both footbrake and twin-lever handbrakes on all models
As kids develop their skills with the gears and riding, on all ByK SRAM x2i and x3i models, the foot brake is still there. And to develop skills, kids can also use the twin-lever handbrakes readying them for their next bike down the track - likely a derailleur geared model with no footbrake.5.
